Louisville Rigged Election, Retailers Say

LOUISVILLE (CN) - Two liquor store owners claim Jefferson County, its Elections Board, Sheriff and division of Alcoholic Beverage Control violated the state constitution by rigging precinct lines in the Sept. 11, 2007 "wet-dry ballot question election" that banned liquor sales in four West End precincts. Store owners say the State agencies fixed it so that Churchill Downs and Louisville International Airports would each be an entire precinct - with no voters - so liquor sales could continue there. They want the precinct lines declared unconstitutional and enforcement enjoined.
