Louisiana Seeks Millions from ConocoPhilips

NEW ORLEANS (CN) - The tax assessor of Terrebonne Parish says Burlington Resources Oil & Gas Co., a subsidiary of ConocoPhilips, owes "many millions of dollars" in taxes, or at least $1.5 million. The federal RICO complaint accuses Burlington of underreporting much of its mineral-producing land by a substantial amount, and that from 1998 to 2008 some oil-producing property was not reported at all.
