Losing Candidate Sues Democrats

GENEVA, ILL. (CN) - Jim Oberweis, the Republican candidate who recently lost the special election for Dennis Hastert's congressional seat to Democrat Bill Foster, claims the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee defamed him in campaign ads that falsely claimed his business, Oberweis Dairy, hired "illegal immigrants."

Oberweis, who sued before he lost the election, claims the alleged defamation hurt his business.
