Longtime Manhattan DA Joins NYC Firm

NEW YORK (CN) - Manhattan district attorney Robert Morgenthau, who was the model for the original DA on television's "Law & Order," has taken a new job at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.

First elected in 1974, the 90-year-old finished his 35-year run as head of one of the nation's most prominent prosecutor's offices at the end of last year.

His successor, fellow Democrat Cyrus Vance Jr., was elected in November.
