Locals Challenge Fed Bird Habitat at Cape Hatteras

WASHINGTON (CN) - The Department of the Interior last year designated 2,034 acres at Cape Hatteras National Seashore as critical winter habitat for the piping plover, and that will hurt North Carolina tourism and won't protect the birds, two North Carolina counties and The Cape Hatteras Access Preservation Alliance claim in Federal Court.
