Loaded Syringe Was Dirty, Woman Claims

CHICAGO (CN) - A leukemia patient "became violently ill and was hospitalized for nine days" from using a "bacteria-tainted syringe" provided by Am2Pat dba Sierra Pre-filled, the woman claims in Cook County Court. A syringe or syringes, pre-filled with the blood-thinner heparin and used to clean catheters and IV lines, were contaminated with the bacteria Serratia marcescens, she says. See complaint.
