LinkedIn was denied its petition on Friday for an en banc rehearing of a Ninth Circuit panel's blockbuster ruling against the social media site that allowed a data analysis company to scrape the site's user data and sell it to other companies.

SAN FRANCISCO - The Ninth Circuit refused to hold an en banc rehearing of a case where its panel ruled in a blockbuster opinion that a data-analysis company could scrape user data from LinkedIn and sell it to other companies.
