Lil Nas X prevails over copyright suit

SAN FRANCISCO — The Ninth Circuit found that Lil Nas X did not violate any copyright owned by a model who accused the rapper of posting photos of himself on his Instagram that were too similar to the model’s own images. The model needed to show that Lil Nas X had “access” to his photos, or that the “selection” and “arrangement” in the pictures were substantially similar — but could not.
