Lifeguard Assault

A federal court in Pennsylvania dismissed a civil rights claim against Philadelphia brought by a lifeguard who says she was assaulted in a break room by a male supervisor who had pleaded guilty to committing numerous crimes in the years after he was hired by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department. The plaintiff may file an amended complaint.

PHILADELPHIA — A federal court in Pennsylvania dismissed a civil rights claim against Philadelphia brought by a lifeguard who says she was assaulted in a break room by a male supervisor who had pleaded guilty to committing numerous crimes in the years after he was hired by the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.
