Library Sues Its Friend

LAS VEGAS (CN) - The Clark County Library District and the Friends of Southern Nevada Libraries are no longer friends. The library system seeks an injunction to stop the nonprofit from taking its money elsewhere.

The tiff started when the library system asked why it got only $179,890 of the $253,862 generated through the nonprofit's sale of the system's retired books between 2006 and 2007.

Instead of doing an audit as requested, the friends of the library threatened to dissolve and distribute its money elsewhere.

The library system is represented in Clark County Court by Todd Touton of Lionel Sawyer.
