Are you obsessed with politics? Can you not get enough?
If so, you need therapy. I’m not a therapist, however, so instead I’m going to help feed your addiction with a new game: Find the Politics.
All you have to do is log on to the social media outlet of your choice and search for any random topic — the randomer the better. Then prepare to be astonished (or horrified) to find political/Trumpy content.
Give yourself points for finding as many of these unexpected (or expected?) items as you can. Think of it as your daily mental exercise — like Wordle or Spelling Bee. You can impress your friends (if you have any).
Warning: Use of this game on X may cause cranium explosion, insurrection and/or bro tendencies. If you experience any of these symptoms, consult a massage therapist immediately.
Here are a few examples from my gaming last week on Bluesky:
Search term: Ice cream. “Every nursing home has the nice lady refilling your glass and bringing you two scoops of ice cream.”
It accompanies a photo of Elon Musk and Donald Trump being served by a waitress (?) at a golf club.
Search term: Basketball. “- a DOJ lawyer knowingly lying to a lower court about knowledge of immigrants being unlawfully removed from the country … - I guess Steph Curry is still playing basketball, good for him.”
Search term: Cats. “All cats are more qualified.”
Search term: Dogs. ”The dogs are out protesting too.”
Dogs against Doge just makes sense.
I got another point for a photo of a “Dogs Against Doge Bags” protester.
Search term: Movies. “This is what you bigots traded no more ‘woke’ movies like Sinners for:”
This is accompanied by a news item about the defense secretary sharing secrets in chats. Some day someone will make a movie about this. It will be a comedy.
Or maybe a tragedy.
Search term: Trampoline. “does anyone remember that lady on twitter who said you aren’t a real woman unless you’ve pissed yourself on a trampoline due to your child-ravaged bladder.”
Apparently quite a few people remember.
There’s also this, which might be political or just excessive worrying: “I really don’t want my future trampoline and Santa stuck in customs.”
Maybe score half a point for that one.
Search term: Canoe. “i may not have enough toilet paper and eggs to survive when this american empire finally collapses but ive got bluesky & 6 pounds of whole bean coffee and by the time that runs out i’ll know whether there’s any good left to stay & fight for or peace out, huddled low in a canoe to an island country.”
Always look on the dark side of life.
Search term: Sink. Hit the jackpot with this one. You’ll have a hard time finding any posts about actual sinks. Let that sink in. Really, let that sink in because you’ll be reading “let that sink in” a lot doing this search.
My sanity was saved by a picture of a cat in a sink.
Enjoy.
