Lehman Owes Top 20 Creditors $158 Billion

MANHATTAN (CN) - Lehman Bros. owes its 20 top creditors $157.7 billion, according to Monday's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. Leading the pack are Citibank, which is owed $138 billion, and The Bank of New York, $17 billion.

Here is the partial list of creditors:

Citibank N.A. $138 billion.

The Bank of New York $12 billion.

The Bank of New York $5 billion.

Aozora $463 million.

Mizuho Corp. Bank Ltd. $289 million.

Citibank N.A. Hong Kong $275 million.

BNP Paribas $250 million.

Shinesi Bank Ltd. $231 million.

UFJ Bank Limited $185 million.

Surnitomo Mitsubishi Bank $177 million.

Svenska Handelsbanken $140.6 million.

KBC Bank $100 million.

Mizhuho Corporate Bank $93 million.

Shinkin Central Bank $93 million.

The Bank of Nova Scotia $93 million.

Chuo Mitsui Trust & Bank $93 million.

Lloyds Bank $75.4 million.

Hua Nan Commercial Bank $59 million.

Bank of China $50 million.

Nippon Life Insurance Co. $46 million.

All the debts are listed as unsecured, in the filing by Harvey Miller with Weil Gotshal.
