BOSTON — The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled Harvard was not required to advance funds to chemistry professor Charles Lieber for attorney fees and expenses he incurred while facing felony charges relating to his ties to a China-run recruitment program. Last month, Lieber was found guilty of filing false tax returns, making false statements, and failing to file reports for a foreign bank account.
