LOS ANGELES (CN) - The lawyer for the former wife of billionaire Kirk Kerkorian and two of her friends have filed a pair of invasion of privacy complaints against him, his lawyer, and private investigator Anthony Pellicano.
Robert S. Rein, who represented Lisa Bonder Kerkorian in child support and breach of contract proceedings in 2002, claimed that Pellicano, who was hired by attorney Terry Christensen, wiretapped telephone conversations and hired employees of Pacific Bell Telephone Company to get access to confidential information.
Pellicano also allegedly illegally obtained Mrs. Kerkorian's medical records from several of her health care pforessionals.
Pacific Bell, Christensen, and Christensen's former firm, Glaser, Fink, Jacobs, Weil & Shaprio, LLP are also named defendants.
The "illegal acts were part of a concerted effort to intimidate Mrs. Kerkorian and other witnesses, to harass and embarrass Ms. Kerkorian and others working with her, and to obtian an unfair tactical advantage for Mr. Kerkorian in the child support litigation and the civil litigation," the suit said.
A similar suit alleging wiretapping was filed on behalf of Robert and Leslie Lobel, friends of Mrs. Kerkorian, who sometimes dicussed the litigation with her.
Rein filed the suit on his own behalf. The Lobels are represented by Neville and Douglas Johnson of Johson & Johnson.
