Landlords Challenge SF Ordinance

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - A city/county ordinance that prohibits "inducements to tenants to vacate units" unconstitutionally chills speech - such as offers to settle potential litigation - and discourages landlords from petitioning for redress of grievances, the Small Property Owners of San Francisco Institute says. Voters approved the bill as Prop. M on the Nov. 4 ballot.

The Institute and a landlord sued the City and County of San Francisco in Federal Court. They are represented by Steven Rosenthal and James Kraus.
