Labor dispute

SAN FRANCISCO — The Ninth Circuit dismissed on jurisdictional grounds appeals in a suit relating to claims that a union engaged in an illegal secondary boycott at the Port of Portland. A jury had returned a $93.5 million verdict for ICTSI Oregon Inc., and a district court conditioned its denial of the defendant union’s request for a new trial on acceptance of a remittitur of the award to $19 million, which the plaintiff rejected.
