L.A. Inspector Gets 2½ Years for Bribery

LOS ANGELES (CN) - A longtime L.A. building inspector was sentenced Monday to 2½ years in federal prison for taking more than $30,000 in bribes in Koreatown.

Samuel In, 66, of Glendale, had worked for the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety for 37 years. He pleaded guilty to bribery a year ago, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a statement announcing his sentencing.

He took more than $30,000 in bribes he called "fees" for at least a dozen Koreatown properties, prosecutors said.
