HOUSTON (CN) - Four oilfield workers were kidnapped at gunpoint in Nigeria, held hostage for a week and threatened with execution after Trico Marine Services blew off their requests for more security, and "derided plaintiffs for overreacting," even though other workers had been kidnapped from the same field just 2 months before, the workers claim in Harris County Court.
The plaintiffs - two of them Ukrainian and two Norwegians - say they were seriously injured during the ordeal in August 2006.
Timofei Belous, Roger Bjerkas, Jarle Johansen, and Aleksander Myklaetas are represented by Kurt Arnold with Arnold & Itkin.
They sued Eastern Marine Services Limited, Trico Marine Operators, and Trico Marine Services.
