(CN) - Britney Spears' ex-husband and the father of her two children skipped out on seven months of rent at the Los Angeles home he has lived in for the last four years, according to a complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Property owner Joseph Malek says Federline, who was Spears' backup dancer before the pair married in 2004, refused to pay the last seven months of a four-year lease and left the place "with extensive damage."
Spears and Federline were married for two years. A 2008 court order awarded Federline sole custody of their two sons, Sean Preston Federline and Jayden James Federline. The court gave Spears visitation rights and ordered her to pay $20,000 per month in child support.
Malek demands damages, and is representing himself.
