Kerik Stays in Jail for Now

MANHATTAN (CN) - A 2nd Circuit judge denied Bernard Kerik's request to stay the revocation of his bail on pending trial in corruption charges, but granted an expedited hearing on the merits of the former NY Police Commissioner's appeal. A federal judge in White Plains revoked Kerik's $500,000 bail last week, saying Kerik had violated a court order by sending confidential information to a fund raiser for his defense fund.

The hearing on the merits of the appeal will be held this Thursday.
