Katt Williams Charged With Battery in Georgia

(CN) - Comedian Katt Williams was arrested Thursday after he threw a salt shaker at a restaurant manager.

Police in the Atlanta suburb of East Point, Ga.. said they responded to the Spondivits restaurant shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday night after a patron reported a fight.

When they arrived, Police Capt. Cliff Chandler said, the restaurant manager had a bloody lip and he and others said Williams had assaulted him.

Chandler said police eventually located Williams at a nearby Waffle House restaurant and arrested him after a brief conversation. The comedian was released from the East Point jail on bond at about 12:30 a.m.

Drew Findling, a lawyer for Williams, said he plans to interview witnesses and do his own investigation into the incident.
