WASHINGTON (CN) — Justice Clarence Thomas has been hospitalized since Friday evening with an infection and will miss some oral arguments this week, the Supreme Court announced Sunday evening.
Thomas, 73, was admitted to Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. with flu-like symptoms and was diagnosed with an infection, according to a release from the court.
“He underwent tests, was diagnosed with an infection, and is being treated with intravenous antibiotics,” the release stated. “His symptoms are abating, he is resting comfortably, and he expects to be released from the hospital in a day or two.”
According to the court, Thomas will still participate in cases where he can not be present using briefs, transcripts, and oral argument audio.
