EUGENE, Ore. (CN) - A soldier on active duty in Iraq claims Associated Creditors Exchange is harassing his parents, and threatened his mother that the collection agency would contact his commanding officer, who would "rough him up, since soldiers are not to leave on deployment in debt."
Brian Gunderson, who acknowledges he defaulted on car payments, and has been in Iraq for a year, wants statutory damages for debt collection violations. He is represented in Federal Court by Keith Karnes of Salem.
