Jury Room Access

A Maryland appeals court ruled that the Circuit Court for Baltimore City properly excused four disabled jurors from the assault trial of a correctional officer because the jury room was not accessible. 

BALTIMORE – A Maryland appeals court ruled that the Circuit Court for Baltimore City properly excused four disabled jurors from the assault trial of a correctional officer because the jury room was not accessible. 

The jurors said they would not be able to climb the staircase with 25 stairs, which was the only way to reach the jury room that accompanied the courtroom.
