Judges’ Performance Will Be Evaluated

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (CN) - Illinois circuit judges will undergo mandatory performance evaluations, the state Supreme Court announced. Judges will be chosen randomly for evaluation; 100 to 125 judges will take part in the first year.

The evaluations are designed to spot and fix any problems with their performance.

The evaluations apply to circuit and associate judges who have been on the bench from 2 to and 25 years. Results will be shared between the judges and a person trained to help them improve.
