Judge Tosses Guitarist's Suit Against Coldplay

(CN) – A federal judge in Los Angeles dismissed guitarist Joe Satriani’s lawsuit accusing Coldplay and frontman Chris Martin of plagiarizing the song “Viva La Vida.” The one-page order suggests the parties settled out of court.     In December 2008, Satriani accused the band of copying his tune “If I Could Fly.”     U.S. District Judge Dean Pregerson dismissed the case “based on the parties’ stipulation for dismissal with prejudice.”
