Judge Sentences Philly Eagles Coach’s Son

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CN) - Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reich's eldest son was sentenced to up to 23 months in jail for crashing into another driver's car while high on heroin.

Montgomery County Judge Steven O'Neill said the coach's home was like "a drug emporium" for sons, Garrett, 24, and Britt, 22, who are hooked on drugs and prescription painkillers.

Authorities said they found syringes with heroin and testosterone in Garrett's SUV after he ran a red light and smashed into another vehicle. They also claimed to have found 89 prescription drug pills in Garrett's jail cell Thursday morning, which he allegedly smuggled in his rectum when he was jailed earlier this week. Drugs, guns and ammunition were found during searches of Reid family's house and cars, authorities claimed.

"I'm saying this is a family in crisis," O'Neill said during sentencing.
