Judge sanctioned

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals suspended C. Carter Williams, a circuit judge, for six months without pay, issued a $5,000 fine and ordered two years of monitoring as punishment for violating the code of judicial conduct. Williams was involved in a verbal altercation with a police officer who pulled him over on suspicion for texting while driving, but later cited the judge for driving on a suspended license.
