Judge finds no racial bias in health inspection

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A federal judge in California found that a county health inspector did not discriminate against a Black barbecue food truck operator after he performed a confrontational inspection of the truck, which did not have the necessary permit. Though the inspector threatened to call the sheriff only on the Black-owned food truck and not the two other food trucks operating without a permit, which did not have Black owners, “unfairness does not equate with actionable discrimination.”
