Judge allows LGBTQ opt-out

BOSTON — A federal judge in Massachusetts issued a preliminary injunction allowing a parent to keep his kindergarten-age child from being exposed to classroom lessons and books that touch on LGBTQ-related topics. The parent is likely to succeed on his claim that the instruction and materials conflict with his religious beliefs and that the school did not provide him with adequate notice and a reasonable opportunity to opt his child out of those lessons.
