LOS ANGELES — A federal court in California granted WildEarth Guardians’ request for summary judgment in their dispute challenging the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s decision to not list the Joshua tree as threatened under the Endangered Species Act. The court agreed with the environmental nonprofit, finding the agency’s determination that climate change doesn’t threaten the trees to such an extent to warrant protection was “arbitrary and capricious.”
