Jockey Pat Valenzuela Sues Racing Board

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Jockey Patrick Valenzuela sued the California Horse Racing Board in Superior Court, claiming it summarily revoked his Conditional Jockey License on Dec. 28 without due process. Valenzuela, who was suspended in 2000 for drug and alcohol problems, says the Board suspended him for refusing to agree to its prohibiting him from drinking alcohol at any time, even though he would not be under its influence at the track. He is represented by Neil Papiano.
