Job Applicant Says He Was Mauled by Hyena

HOUSTON (CN) - A man applying for a job as an assistant zookeeper says he was mauled by a hyena. Christopher Albers seeks exemplary damages from TGR Exotics of Spring, Texas, and the husband and wife who own it.

"A possessor of a wild animal is subject to liability of others, except trespassers on his land, for such harm done by the animal to their persons," under Texas and Harris County law, Albers says.

He wants Troy and Gwendolyn Scott held liable for gross negligence for his injuries. The Scotts keep exotic animals from around the world at their farm.

Hyenas are doglike mammals with immensely powerful jaws.

Albers is represented in Harris County Court by David Kallus of The Woodlands.
