JFK Airport Worker Won’t Pursue Suit Against Actor

(CN) - A woman retracted the lawsuit she filed against actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers earlier this month.

In a statement from her attorney, Kathryn Williams said any interpretation that Rhys Meyers made physical contact with her is "inaccurate."

"There is no claim that Mr. Meyers made any physical contact with Ms. Williams or that she sustained any 'physical' bodily injury as a result of any physical contact," Elliot Budashewitz of Berson Budashewitz wrote in a statement. "Any inconvenience caused Mr. Meyers by any misinterpretation of the complaint to the contrary was certainly unintended."

Williams' now-withdrawn lawsuit was filed in connection to an incident widely reported in May 2010 that the Dublin-born, Cork-raised actor was drunk and disorderly at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Rhys Meyers made headlines at airports based on similar allegations at airports in Dublin and Paris in 2007 and 2009, respectively.

Rhys Meyers' attorney, Michael Miller with Steptoe Johnson, had characterized Williams' March 7 lawsuit as "a blatant attempt to shake down a celebrity."
