CHICAGO (CN) - The AEI Speakers Bureau sued the Rev. Jesse Jackson for $100,000 in Cook County Court. AEI claims Jackson agreed to speak in Trinidad for $75,000, then backed out, saying he did not want to appear to be favoring one Trinidadian political party. AEI says it spent $36,000 to rent a jet and lost a $64,000 commission.
American Entertainment International dba AEI Speakers Bureau says Jackson signed a contract on Oct. 29, 2007, promising to speak five days later in Trinidad, but backed out. Jackson was to appear with Martin Luther King III and the Rev. Al Sharpton, AEI says. AEI is represented by Deutschman & Associates.
