(CN) - A crib business owned by the wife of radio legend Casey Kasem filed a lawsuit accusing a former employee of "essentially looking to extort 'hush money'" by falsely claiming on television that the company still owes her money.
Hilda Loza worked for the Little Miss Liberty Round Crib Company in Los Angeles from August 2012 through last May, according to the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court.
The company says Loza violated a written nondisclosure agreement by "deliberately conducting a public television show and releasing the confidential, albeit erroneous, information regarding terms and conditions of her employment."
Jean Kasem, through her company, claims she paid Loza in full for her work, but Loza "is essentially looking to extort 'hush money' out of her" by discussing their dispute on TV.
The Little Miss Liberty Round Crib Company wants Loza to pay $100,000 for allegedly breaching the nondisclosure agreement. It also seeks a court declaration that the company has paid Loza in full "for all services rendered."
Jean Kasem has been married to Casey Kasem, former host of "American Top 40," since 1980. They have one daughter, Liberty.
Late last year, Jean was reportedly ordered to pay Loza $10,000 for the emotional abuse Loza says she suffered as the couple's housekeeper.
Jean is also embroiled in a conservatorship battle with her stepchildren, who claim she banned them from visiting their 81-year-old father, who has advanced Parkinson's disease and early onset dementia, according to Hollywood.com.
Jean Kasem is also known for her acting roles in "Cheers" and "The Tortellis," among other shows.
Her crib company is represented by Steve Haney of Haney & Young in Los Angeles.
