Jared Fogle Blames Parents of Porn Victim

(CN) — The former face of the Subway sandwich chain brought a federal complaint from the slammer against the parents of a girl featured in his buddy's vast collection of child pornography.

Jared Fogle is serving 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to having sex with underage prostitutes and kiddie-porn charges.

The 38-year-old's demise began in 2015 when authorities raided the Indiana home of the man who directed Fogle's charity for children, Russell Taylor.

Investigators found that Taylor used hidden cameras throughout his home - including his bathroom - to film nude children.

Some of Fogle's porn stash came from Taylor's footage, and Fogle now faces a federal complaint from the parents of one of the victimized children, identified in court records only as Jane Doe.

Fogle fired back Thursday with a third-party complaint that says Doe's parents, B.T. and J.T., are the root of her problems.

"B.T. and J.T. maintained a hateful and abusive relationship toward each other, which included, but was not limited to, engaging in frequent fighting and arguing between themselves; abusing alcohol and getting drunk; and engaging in frequent fighting, physical abuse, and arguing with Jane Doe, which caused Jane Doe to suffer from emotional distress, anxiety, and major depression before she learned of any allegations involving the Defendants or any acts of the defendants," the complaint states.

It's because of B.T. and J.T., the complaint continues, that Doe became depressed and began "engaging in destructive behaviors, including, but not limited to alcohol abuse, substance abuse, self-mutilation, and suicidal ideation with regard to which B.T. and J.T. are liable."

Seeking damages for emotional distress, Fogle accuses the girl's parents of having "failed to properly supervise" their child.

Fogle became a spokesman for Subway in 2000, soon turning his weight loss from a sandwich-based diet into an estimated net worth of $15 million,

He's now at the Federal Correctional Institution in Englewood, Colo.

As part of his sentencing, Fogle agreed to pay $1.4 million in restitution, which amounts to $100,000 for each victim.

Taylor, the porn-producing former director of Fogle's charity, was sentenced to 27 years in federal prison and lifetime supervision a month later.

Subway severed ties with Fogle long ago and has not returned a request for comment.

Fogle is represented by Ronald Elberger with Bose McKinney & Evans in Indianapolis.
