Italian Sewage

Italy's failures when it comes to collecting and treating urban wastewater will cost it $29 million plus a fine of $35 million for every six months of delay, the European Court of Justice ruled Thursday.

LUXEMBOURG - Following up on a 2012 judgment concerning Italy’s collection and treatment of urban wastewater, the European Court of Justice ruled Thursday that the country must pay a lump sum of $29 million plus a fine, starting today, of $35 million for every six months of delay. A copy of the ruling is not available in English.
