IRS Issues Rules on Charitable Groups

WASHINGTON (CN) - The Internal Revenue Service has proposed standards for making a good faith determination that a foreign organization is a charitable organization.

If a foreign organization is charitable, grants to it may be qualifying distributions and not taxable expenditures.

The regulations will affect private foundations seeking to make good faith determinations.
