RIVERSIDE, Calif. (CN) - A man who left pipe bombs in his ex-girlfriend's neighborhood was sentenced Monday to 6 years in federal prison.
Edward Allen Costa, 49, of Desert Hot Springs, pleaded guilty in 2012 to being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was sentenced to a year in prison and was finishing his term at a halfway house when he walked away in August 2013, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. He was on the loose until November.
While he was a fugitive, he was charged with possessing six pipe bombs that were left in a residential neighborhood of Palm Springs.
