Iran Demands $50 Million|For Damage To Interdicted Weapons

BALTIMORE (CN) - The Iran Defense Ministry claims Overflo Warehouse damaged "billions of dollars" worth of weapons and spare parts that Iran bought from the United States in 1979. Uncle Sam stopped the shipment when the Iranian revolution began. In 2005, the floor of an Overflo warehouse collapsed, damaging the goods.

Iran demands $50 million, plus interest, for the ruined material, which included radar, navigation equipment, computers, electronic parts and "military components," according to the federal complaint.

Iran, which has no diplomatic relations with the United States, sued through the Iranian Interests Section of the Pakistani Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Iran is represented by Saeid Amini, of Cleveland, Ohio.
