Inmate Says Mexican|Officials Will Kill Him

HOUSTON (CN) - A federal prisoner who says he was a DEA informant demands records from the U.S. Department of Justice to fight his deportation. "If I am deported to Mexico it is certain that I will be tortured and killed by Mexican law enforcement officials acting at the behest of the drug organization I informed on," he says in his pro se federal complaint.

He claims the Bureau of Prisons and/or the Department of Justice have documents that show the DEA acknowledges he is likely to be killed if deported to Mexico because of his work as an informant.

"These documents would provide substantial help to the relief I am seeking to not be deported to Mexico," he claims. "The only relief that I qualify for is the Convention Against Torture and the criteria to obtain relief under the Convention is extremely high. Therefore it is necessary to obtain these documents to substantiate my claim under the Convention. It is in the interest of justice that this suit is made and not for any other purpose."
