Injury Awards Won’t |Be Gross Income

WASHINGTON (CN) - In response to divergent court opinions, the Internal Revenue Service has determined that payments made for injuries or sickness may be deleted from a taxpayer's gross income.

Also, the amounts need not be based upon "tort or tort type" rights.
