ATLANTA (CN) - A Woodstock police officer forced a "confidential informant" to have oral and vaginal sex with him to avoid jail time, the alleged victim claims in Federal Court.
The woman, G.M., was arrested by officer Heath Johnston, who allegedly persuaded her to become a confidential informant.
She says Johnston invited her to the police department to "discuss plans for the next day's work before she could go home that day."
Once she arrived, Johnston "threatened to put her in jail if she did not cooperate and thereby coerced her into performing both oral and vaginal sex with him," the lawsuit states.
The city police department launched an administrative inquiry into the incident, and Johnston resigned that day.
The plaintiff seeks $2.5 million in special, general and punitive damages from Woodstock and Johnston. She is represented by Ralph Goldberg of Goldberg & Cuvillier in Decatur, Ga.
