Infiniti Headlight Thefts Called ‘Epidemic’

ELIZABETH, N.J. (CN) - Nissan sold a woman a new 2003 Infiniti without disclosing that its design exposes the cars to an "epidemic" of headlight theft, Denise Dance claims in Union County Court. She says her headlights were stolen six times, for repair bills of $47,000, and that she and her disabled son were forced to confront thieves "at least one or two times."

The car that she bought new and for which she paid $32,260, was in the shop for a total of 6 months as a result of the headline thefts, she says. Dance claims that Nissan perpetrated consumer fraud and breached lemon laws.
