‘Infamous Crimes’ Lead |To Pa. Judge’s Removal

PHILADELPHIA (CN) – The Pennsylvania Supreme Court removed municipal court Judge Deborah Shelton Griffin from the bench after she used a fake Social Security number to apply for several credit cards.

After pleading guilty to two felony counts, Griffin received three years’ probation and was ordered to pay $1,200 in restitution.
Her felony convictions constitute “infamous crimes” under the state constitution, the court ruled, barring her from holding an office of trust, even if she was elected and retained for a second term after the ordeal.
