PHILADELPHIA (CN) - An industrial accident cost a man his penis and several fingers, when vapors from a defective pressure washer ignited while he was disassembling a machine, the man says.
George Stoner claims Penn Kleen failed to heed a specific instruction to empty all the fuel from used pressure washers before it sold the washers to his employer, nonparty Swope's Salvage and Recycling.
Stoner sued Penn Kleen and several Denmark- and Arizona-based companies involved in the sale or manufacture of the machines. He said the K.E.W.-brand washer at the heart of his ordeal did not have "safe and practical means of purging and eliminating fuel and vapors from the product."
Stoner says he also faces the possible amputation of his left hand.
