Indicted improperly

EL PASO, Texas — More than 50 nearly identical opinions were published by a Texas appellate court, each concerning alleged participants in an April 2024 riot in El Paso that resulted in 141 indictments. The criminal cases were all properly dismissed because the indictments contained no district clerk stamp, no district court cause number and no indication that they were filed in the district court or with its clerk. Therefore the county court’s jurisdiction was not properly invoked.
