Indians Appeal ‘Redskins’ Ruling to Supreme Court

(CN) - A group of American Indians asked the Supreme Court to review an appeals panel's decision to toss a complaint that sought to strip the Washington Redskins of six trademarked images that plaintiffs found offensive.

The Federal Circuit ruled in May that seven American Indians waited too long to sue Pro Football Inc. over the use of the Redskins trademarks.

Plaintiffs sued in 1992, 25 years after the mark was first registered in 1967.
