In-Flight Death

A federal court in Texas dismissed a family’s wrongful death suit against American Airlines arising from 25-year-old Brittany Oswell’s death from a medical emergency she experienced a pulmonary embolism during a flight. A doctor on board requested an emergency landing and the family claimed the flight crew’s failure to divert resulted in the woman’s death.

FORT WORTH — A federal court in Texas dismissed a family’s wrongful death suit against American Airlines arising from 25-year-old Brittany Oswell’s death from a medical emergency caused by a pulmonary embolism during a flight. A doctor on board requested an emergency landing and the family claimed the flight crew’s failure to divert resulted in the woman’s death.
